Translation of the Holy Relics St John Chrysostom

Saints 27th Jan

St John Chrysostom's relicts took place on January 27 in 438 AD, when St Theodosios the Younger had been Emperor for 30 years; he was the son of Arcadios and Eudoxia, who had exiled St John. The Archbishop of Constantinople at that time was Proclos, who had been the Saint's disciple.

Dismissal Hymn Grace shining forth from thy mouth like a beacon hath illumined the universe, disclosed to the world treasures of non-covetousness, and shown us the heights of humility; but whilst instructing us by your words, O Father John Chrysostom, intercede with the Word, Christ our God, to save our souls.
