St Stephen of St Sava Monastery
St Stephen the Hymnographer of St Sava Monastery, lived the ascetic life at the Lavra of St. Sava in Palestine. He and Andrew the Blind were among the first to compose hymns (idiomela) for the period between the Publican and Pharisee and Palm Sunday.

O Champion of Orthodoxy, teacher of purity and of true worship, the light of the universe and the God-inspired adornment of the Hierarchs. You have enlightened all things by Your teachings, O all-wise Stephen. Intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
